Fire Place Grill --Tagaytay

Don't you just hate it when your servers are so fake? Had dinner here a month ago with my bf and i still remember the bad impression that I got from the waiter. Apparently, he thought my bf's a foreigner so he served him first, eyeing a big tip. Funny. Food was pretty okay though. TI cant quite recall but I think i ordered the rib-eye steak which was pretty well marinated and was thus tasty. Lolo dads or Antonios is still better though. Heard about the kobe beef burger near there. really should try that out next time.

Lolo Dads

still good food as usual. But isnt it time to change the menu a little please? i really like the food but im getting sick of having the same food over and over again. um...except for the dessert with mascarpone chesse. Yummy! and could use improvement on service. for a high-end restaurant, the servers sure cannot converse or understand well in American-accented English.

POLU KAI--serendra

2.5 out of 5.
Enough said.

ABE --Serendra

Ok, so I have been trying all the restos located in Serendra one by one. Abe is another resto from the LJC group so expect similar food. Price is higher than other concepts though. I guess its cos of the rent there? Nothing special. But ok if you're craving for Filipino food. Try the crispy tadyang. serving is quite okay for that one

Thai at Silk ---Serendra

Nice interiors but the food was just plain bad. Ate here 2 weeks ago with 3 of my friend. we ordered the spring roll and I almost broke a tooth when i bit into a spring roll that contained a piece of crab shell ---the hard kind!!! Informed the server at once and they did nothing. Not even an apology. Hainanese chicken rice, a personal fave of mine, tasted bland. Actually, it didnt taste like anything at all. Satay was extremely dry. For food costing that much, you would expect better quality and better service! Saw 2 friends outside who were thinking of trying it. Quickly gave them a thumbs down. Never NEVER ever going back to this place. For all my friends, believe me, dont even bother trying it .

creme brulee

still the best creme brulee that ive tasted so far in manila is the green tea creme brulee from Kai. maybe coz its so small and leaves you wanting for more. wish someone else could sell similar creme brulee in much larger portions. sigh

UNO-- Sct Fuentabella

was one of my favourite restaurants. WAS. Bought 3 of their chocolate streusels to give to friends after it was recommended by the owner. All of them friends who received it said it was um...okay. But i found out that two of them threw it away without finishing it. Guess they were being polite.
i still like the chocolate fallen cake though.
for a casual dinner, its still a place to consider. just make sure you go early for that extremely scarce parking space. had a really bad incident there when i was with my bf. guard told us to park right next to the closed gate so we wouldnt have to move the car in case someone wanted to go out. then later he called for us to move the car because he decided to open the gate instead even though the cars could go out anyways. we complained to management and they did nothing. our quiet evening turned out to be a pain in the neck. still, had fond memories of the place when it was small (only one floor, now they have two) and still relatively unknown.

Gumbo - MOA

Ok i know ive already said this in Anton's blog but the food in Gumbo is just terrible. I really dont understand why some people still eat there. Its so fake. The food is not at all Creole food. and i love creole food. okay, i love almost all food. check out anton's comment. we are just never going to eat there again.

Banana Leaf Asian Cafe- SM the Block

So SM isnt really my thing. I hate the horrendous traffic getting there and the lack of parking spaces but I just love the laksa noodles with pork chop from Banana Leaf. Its located on the 2nd or 3rd floor next to aristocrat?? yummy...
went there to eat with my family and my dad actually wanted to take home the soup from the laksa noodles. He finished the noodles and liked the soup so much he actually asked the waiter to bag it. Hahaha!
I think I ate too much again. Had the Laksa noodles and also had Hainanese chicken set meal. I just love the rice that comes with it. I could eat it on its own. darn, wish i knew how to make it. ooh, i think the normal green mango shake made the noodle soup taste even better.

guava at serendra

small quaint little resto in serendra. nice place to eat but dont expect too much from the food. a little bit overrated. the bagoong rice was pretty okay though. however, it can be easily copied. friendly chef. dont waste calories on the foie gras. if youve got no place else to eat and havent tried this out then might as well. 2.5 out of 5 stars

food glorious food

ok, so we are all on a diet. Well at least some of us. So im starting this blog to help those who love to eat but dont want to waste calories on bad food. And coz my friends have consistently been bugging me for resto recos. So here you go! Dont text me anymore! just check my blog. Do that into account that its the holidays right now and so itll take awhile for me to actually post anything. =)
